Binstead Primary School is calling on other schools across the Isle of Wight to join them in participating in the 2018 Great British Spring Clean.
The aim of the event, which will take place between 2nd-4th March 2018, is to get half a million people out cleaning up their local communities.
Every Isle of Wight primary school headteacher has been invited to organise their own participation.
The collaborative efforts between Island schools will teach the children many valuable lessons including to respect the Isle of Wight’s natural beauty; to give back to the local neighbourhood; that we can actively clean the environment and will help to establish a foundation of adolescent moral and civic identity through community service.
Chair of the Friends of Binstead Primary School, Tonya Jayston said:
“This is a call to action for all of us to take responsibility for our environment and be the change we want to see on our Island, one piece of litter at a time!”
It is easy to participate and more information can be found on the GBSC website at www.greatbritishspringclean.org.uk. You can get in touch with Binstead Primary by emailing [email protected].
