A number of beach huts were damaged by vandals at Puckpool near Ryde over the weekend.
The incident occurred sometime overnight on Saturday into Sunday morning.
A total of 4 huts were damaged – both inside and out – and several others showed signs of being kicked. 2 nearby bins were also vandalised.
It’s not the first time that the beach huts at Puckpool, between Appley and Springvale, have been damaged. A similar incident occurred in the middle of January this year and in March 2017 a total of 9 huts were broken into.
Owners have been made aware and repairs have been put in place.
Anyone with information can contact Police on 101, quoting 44202101311467.

Makes my blood boil. I hope there was cctv somewhere.
Daphne, even IF the CCTV had the name, address, age and delivered the Police to the door of the perpetrator they ‘couldn’t care less’ KNOWING ‘nothing will happen to them.
This isn’t 1930 when a Policeman at the door, will make a child’s blood run cold.
NOTHING will happen, under age, drunk, drugged, girl friend left them, worried about CV, stressed over the lock down, upset because couldn’t see granny (yet SHE no doubt is relieved) etc etc will all be believed by the gullible bench or, more likely those who ‘don’t care’ knowing they are not affected by such tax credit kept low life living well away in a leafy lane and huge home.
Those who moan about these feral charity cases are likely the same ones sending them ‘food parcels’, in the vain hope that by being even ‘nicer’ they will grow up better people, they won’t, just see it as weakness and feel even lower, and want revenge on society.
SEE them for what they are, and plenty more arriving in the area shortly thanks to this vile, greedy and self serving council, none of whom will be living anywhere near such rabble they happily inflict on us all.
Absolute scum
Typical Ryde residents
Kids……they don’t respect anything or anyone’s property. Hope they can be found but I doubt it. They can help to fix the damage they have caused.
Your comment sadness me.
Because it clearly shows how ‘out of touch’ many people are now with modern day, feral children and their parents.
(Sorry post cut cut short!)
Continued:
I know many in my position. The comments imply that if caught, and given a tin of paint, with a burly worker or Policeman watching over the caught vandal, that having to ‘put it right’ would stop them ‘ever doing that again’
The truth is it wouldn’t. For even IF the vandal was allowed by Health and Safety to even hold a tool or a potentially harmful tin of paint, the cretin would have to have all NEW overalls, googles in case paint splashed in their eyes, safety footware, allergy tests for harmful products, unable to use nails, hammer, saws. etc.
The cost would be huge. And, which I have seen occur, those ‘forced’ to do something against their will, would in fact, deliberately tip over the tin of paint, or drop the brush or tools into it, and NO ONE could strike, hurt, or in any way punish the child, AND they KNOW IT.
This is NOW not Heartbeat day, where a Policeman gave you a clip round the ear, and so did you dad.
Those days are over. so please keep your post real, for ‘this century’, otherwise they are implying the answer is easy, when, it is impossible with todays ‘rights of the growing low life we are paying to breed and house from puberty upward with free rent and subsidised tax credits, child allowance and free council tax.
Not your fault, as YOU clearly don’t KNOW this ‘sort’.
Do you know it was kids? Did you see them? A few years ago someone was slashing the tires of parked cars. All the comments blamed the kids. Turned out to be a 70 year old man.
With no evidence all you do is put on display your prejudice and ignorance.
Lockdown seems to be working then.
Wait until thousands more charity kept ‘children’ fill Ryde. Honestly, when the type due to come here do arrive you will see that this really was the pleasant times.
Mark my words a decade down the line and remember this.
I agree these crimes which now are seen as dreadful will not then rate a mention then.
Any decent people still living in S. London would love to have the crime we have here and the type and amount of anti social behaviour we are having.
Wait until gang rape, knife crime, shooting, acid attacks, mugging, extortion s ex slavery, drug revenge killings and other vile crimes fill the County Press in a couple of decades time or so.
A few smashed planks and a deck chair thrown down will seem a trivial matter.
I am not belittling the upset to the owners, merely pointing out that things soon will become so very much worse here, which is not a ‘safer place’ because of ‘location’ BUT due to the ‘type’ of persons we have on our Island soil.
Sadly people here don’t know what they have, UNTIL it is gone, and with this council in power, GONE it all will soon be as masse building will be filled with non Local in every sense of the word, overspill.
Best we vote them out asap, yet they have created the framework for the real ruination of life here already now. All we can do is slow, not stop the rot.
What do you expect from Ryde though? Most of those chalet owners will be mainlanders too so it won’t be easy or convenient for them to do repairs when they are already paying their money to improve the seafront there.
At least, as yet, we don’t defecate on our Pier.
Seeing as we are all about to get screwed with yet another excuse to put up the police share of the council tax rise, we should all be expecting to see more done about the chav scum and their feral brats ruining the quality of life of decent people and running wild doing as they like because they know they are untouchable. Is it likely? Is it bo**oks. All they think about is their own brown envelope profits and charging us more and more for having a roof over our heads. The council tax is nothing more than a roof tax and all we get are cr*p services which as we all know are guaranteed to cut yet again once we all get our new bills. We won’t see a single improvement happen.
Just had a thought. How much are the council screwing the owners of these beach huts that are on their land and how much are they charging them for council tax? Yes, Believe it or not they are charged council tax!
In Burma the army who ignore a democratically elected government would have cut their hands off.Viva freedom. It’s the price you pay.
