13 brand new beach huts are ready and waiting for you to create your own piece of Island paradise at Colwell Bay, just in time for the 2018 summer season.
The new beach huts are painted in bold primary colours of red, blue, yellow and turquoise, providing a vibrant, colourful addition to the bay’s vista and join the 7 that have already been leased.
There are around 238 beach huts in total across the Island, which are currently owned privately. Leases for the 2.4 metre by 1.8 metre Colwell Bay huts are now available.
Councillor John Hobart, Cabinet member for environment and heritage said:
“The beach huts look wonderful and they will undoubtedly be snapped up really quickly, as they are in such a beautiful, calm and peaceful spot at Colwell Bay; a fabulous family beach.
“Island beach huts are a part of our beach life in the UK, for summer and throughout the year. They are highly sought after and we expect the leases to sell very quickly, with people eager to create their own holiday memories here on the Island. The income from this lovely site will also enable the council to maximise income generated from this resource to invest back into core services.”
The 10 year leases are available now at £10,000 which can be split over annual payments of £1,000 per anNum, with a ground rent of £700 per year. The lease can also be paid in a single lump sum, if you wish.
