Ashey Road in Ryde has been closed for emergency repairs this afternoon (Monday).
The busy road in and out of Ryde has been closed for a short section between Pitt Street and Wray Street.
Motorists are still able to travel over the Downs and into Ryde using Smallbrook Lane or Carters Road. Local traffic can divert around the closure via Bettesworth Road.
The closure is necessary to enable Southern Water to carry out emergency repairs.
Will be plenty more bursts as Ryde is built to ruination, and water company has to keep increasing the pressure forced through old pipes to cope with ever growing demand.
Vote this council OUT.
Except these aren’t old pipes.
They’re the brand new ones that Southern Water put us through months of closures and delays to fit not long ago.
The same one that have burst regularly ever since.
we should employ these guys to fix the floating bridge!
