A 50-year-old man Seaview was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after he was stopped by Police in Newchurch on Tuesday evening.
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to Watery Lane in the village at around 17:30 after concerns were raised that a man was driving in the area whilst under the influence of either drink or drugs.
Having pulled the male over and conducted a roadside drugs wipe – which returned a positive reading – he was arrested and taken to Newport Police Station.
Police have since confirmed that he has been released under investigation.
Until drink and drug drivers are banged up,
