UPDATED: Armed Police have this evening (Friday) raced to a block of flats in Newport.
Several units – carrying officers armed with guns and shields – responded to Chestnut Court on the corner of West Street and Carisbrooke Road at around 17:00 following reports of suspicious behaviour.
The incident has now been scaled back with the arrest of one male.
Two armed units remain at the property.
UPDATE @ 19:15 – Police have now left the scene. One male remains in custody for questioning.
Island Echo understands that two males were threatened with what is believed to be an air pistol following a small dispute, prompting armed Police to respond to the area.
