Another person has sadly died from COVID-19 on the Isle of Wight, according to the latest data from NHS England.
The death is said to have occurred at St Mary’s Hospital on 19th November – last Thursday.
The total number of people to die from COVID-19 on the Island since the start of the pandemic is 97. 47 of these deaths have occurred in hospital, 46 in care homes, 3 at home and 1 at the hospice.
According to the latest data on the number of cases, the Island has seen 934 confirmed cases to date with a rate of 662.41 per 100,000 population.
Think the rate per 100,000 is a little out !!!!!!
Yes the rate per 100,000 is calculated per week not combined total over nearly 9 months but why let true figures get in the way of a story
As always,no age of?, health of the person when admitted to hospital, etc ,etc.just, death and covid! To keep all you bed wetters in fear! Let’s guess shall we, 80 yrs old?, with a serious lung condition, from old people’s home?, yeah that’s about right.! And yes this is sad, but so is the other 1500 people that has died today of all sorts of illnesses. But let’s keep being in fear, until we are told any different! Give me strength!
It will show on this unfortunate person’s death certificate as covid19 with underlying medical conditions I’ll bet. Be interesting what tier we’ll be put in next week. Condolences to the person’s family. ‘Sage’ are just a joke and like a sick animal need putting down.
I just wish the GP’s would get back to work, we have borrowed £400 Billion and you would think our GP’s would stop hiding and start treating people…
Absolutely. The GPs have disappeared, gone to ground, hiding under their desks……..seriously, they need to start seeing patients again. Have they been paid throughout 2020 I wonder? If they have, for what exactly??????
I dont think 1500 people on the Island Died today
You don’t say
Rinse & repeat ‘Yawn’ Beats mogadon & cheaper.
so…0.68% of the islands population gets diagnosed with covid – 934 people out of 144,000
0.067% of the population have died of this virus so far – 97 people.
99.32% of the population not diagnosed as positive and 99.933% of the population have not died.
hmm – bit pointless this lockdown crap then, after nearly eight months of this dross.
Christmas now, could well be the last for many older or vulnerable people if selfish relations can’t just have ‘one’ year without ‘having’ to all be together.
Remember the next family gathering otherwise, may just be at the crem.
Do the right thing and look after the elderly and vulnerable by not seeing them.
Why did this take so long to come out, and also why is their no reporting on the number of cases in hospital, more St Marys cover ups. Like the council and the tourist board, they still don’t want to put “The Entitled” 2nd homeowners and tier 2 and tier 3 overners coming here. Shocking!!
OMG why do all media outlets paint such a dark picture these numbers are over 6 months !!! The island is safe
Dont be complacent , the christmas week will help to spread the virus , it will still be with us into the new year , and there is no guarantee that the vaccine will beat the virus .
Safe-ish
My FOI requests for the data sets on both the Oxford vaccine and the Pfizer one has been fobbed off by MHRA with the excuse they are “not in the public interest”! I think a novel mRNA recombinant vaccine which has never received regulatory approval before, is very much in the public interest. The MHRA has no historical data on these vaccines, especially on their long term unintended effects, eg immune enhancement, possible adverse reactions. The data from Pfizer by press release is insufficient for the regulator, it suggests a number needed to vaccinate figure of 256 to prevent one… Read more »
