Members of the Carisbrooke community along with family and friends gathered together for the annual St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School summer fair.
Children were able to have a go at slime-making and take part in an egg-catching competition, which became very competitive among the adults. They also enjoyed a coconut shy and bouncy castle along with many other activities and stalls.
By far the most popular activity at the event was ‘soak the teacher’ with headteacher Maggie Sanderson in the stocks this year.
Mrs Sanderson said:
“It was worth the drenching to see the children enjoying themselves while raising money for the school.
“Thank you to the Friends of St Thomas’ Association (FOSTA) who organised the event and to all those who supported.
“The children seemed to take a lot of pleasure in throwing wet sponges at me. I did also notice one teacher egging the children on. Maybe I will put them in the stocks next year.”
