A Wootton man charged with sexually assaulting a woman has seen his case adjourned due to an administrative issue. 39-year-old David Thornes, of Mary Rose Avenue, appeared before Magistrates on Tuesday (2nd April) charged with sexual assault on a female. It is alleged that Thornes touched a woman aged 16 or over. The offence occurred between January 2020 and March 2020 in the town of Shanklin. No plea was taken at Tuesday’s hearing, which was adjourned until 16th April due to an administrative issue.

When you cut costs to the bone this is what you get, four years and still no closer to justice. Time the people give up on the law and “prosecute” perverts the old way. Law and order is only for countries with a democracy. We have none of that so why pretend that we do.
As much as I detest sex offenders I think that identities should not be published until either a guilty plea is entered or a jury has convicted. As for admin errors, quite simply, there shouldn’t be any when someones reputation is on the line.
