
The cast of Shanklin Theatre’s Strictly Murder, including former Coronation Street actor Brian Capron and soap stars Corinne Wicks and Gary Turner, were on hand to take part in presentations to voluntary groups in Shanklin during their recent tour.
Presentations were made by Shanklin Rotary Club to both Shanklin Library and Shanklin Football Club, who received £500 each.
Shanklin Town Brass Band received funding from UK Youth and Shanklin Voluntary Youth & Community Centre launched their UK Youth research project, the only youth group on the Island to be involved in the project.
Shanklin Women’s Darts League made a donation to the Alzheimers Cafe.
Shanklin VYCC volunteer and town mayor Jon Gilbey said:
“We greatly appreciated Brian, Corinne, Gary and the cast for helping promote local voluntary groups in Shanklin. I’d also like to thank Shanklin Rotary for their support of Shanklin FC, Shanklin Library and other countless local organisations”.
