Red Funnel has announced that at least 6 sailings on its East Cowes-Southampton route have been cancelled tomorrow (Tuesday).
The 12:00, 15:00 and 18:00 crossings from Southampton have been pulled alongside the returns at 13:30, 16:30 and 19:30 from East Cowes.
The unavailability of a critical crew member at short notice is said to be the reason for the cancellations, which comes after today’s 35 minute delays.
Red Funnel apologise for any inconvenience to your journey.

35 minute delays, I was booked on the 1600 which finally left at 1700, not a day goes by without Red Funnel having problems.
Never used to have issues with RF but becoming a hugely unreliable service of late!
It’s difficult to believe that a company that is supposed to be providing a service is so short of suitably qualified people that they have to cancel sailings. Pathetic.
I see the ferry companies campaign in favour of a fixed link is going well. At this rate they’ll have us with our shovels digging it. Be quicker to dig a tunnel than go by ferry. 😀
There is a solution of course. Stop resisting a bridge!
Be careful what you wish for if you have a fixed link, you just become another Cornwall, better to sort out the Ferry companies.
COMPETITION NEEDED !
What utter BS from Red Funnel. Knowing yesterday that a critical crew member is unavailable is not short notice. If you can’t find a replacement in over 16 hours then there is no hope for the company
Sorry I signed the petition against building a bridge over the Solent 50 years ago ! OZ.
overtime is voluntary
