2 PADDLEBOARDERS IN DIFFICULTY BROUGHT ASHORE BY LIFEBOAT

2 paddleboarders who got into difficulties near Fishbourne were rescued by Gosport Lifeboat yesterday lunchtime (Bank Holiday Monday).

Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue (GAFIRS) were out on the Solent when they spotted the pair struggling at the mouth to Wootton Creek.

The paddleboarders were brought ashore to Wightlink’s Fishbourne terminal, where members of Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team were on hand to assist and offer safety advice.

Wightlink has been thanked for the help offered by ferry and terminal staff.

And Ryde Town Council have proposed that Paddle Boards be for hire during the summer !!.Lets hope they also have a rescue boat and not rely on the RNLI or similar.
