UPDATED: 26-year-old Louise Spence and 49-year-old Anthony Booty have been charged with conspiracy to murder following a serious assault on a man in Ryde back in November.
Between 23:30 and 23:59 on Tuesday 22nd November 2016, a 51-year-old man was assaulted by 2 men and a woman on Newport Street in the town, just yards away from Ryde Police Station.
The woman and 1 of the men left the scene in what is believed to be a red Audi before members of the public went to the victim’s aid.
A man and a woman were arrested at the time and now 26-year-old Louise Spence of Green Street, Ryde and 49-year-old Anthony Booty from Preston Close, Ryde have been charged with conspiracy to murder.
The duo will appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this morning (Saturday). They are expected to be remanded in custody.
UPDATE @ 11:10 – Louise Spence and Anthony Booty have both been remanded in custody until Monday 10th April, when they will appear before Winchester Crown Court.
Spence broke down in the court room when she appeared in front of magistrates earlier this morning.
It has been confirmed that Police are still on the search for a third suspect, a Mr Henry Thomas Henderson.
It is thought he may have fled abroad and therefore a European Arrest Warrant for his arrest is being considered.
