Yellow Door have received some much welcome support on the Island by way of a cheque for £10,000, which was presented by The Wight Aid Foundation Trustee, Rob Da Bank earlier this week.
YD Co-ordinator, Jane Winson and her Island team have been working hard over the last 18 months from their base in Newport to provide much needed therapeutic work for those who have come forward for support having been affected by rape and/or sexual abuse. This funding will help the team enormously enabling them to offer the service to more clients that come forward and reduce current waiting lists.
Rob Da Bank said:
“I was honoured to represent the Wight Aid Foundation in donating a cheque for £10,000 to help Yellow Door carry on their amazing work helping victims of rape and sexual abuse on the Isle of Wight. Such an essential service and one that we would like to see flourish.”
Tara Doel, Yellow Door Business Manager who accepted the cheque said:
“This funding is such fantastic news for those victims in need of our service living on the Island, a short while ago specialist support was only available from the mainland for clients so being able to provide service for those in need directly on the Island is a great step in making the service accessible for all”
