Island Brewery in Newport is now offering an increased range of its award-winning products on all Wightlink’s car ferries.
The new arrangement is part of Wightlink’s ongoing commitment to increasing the number of Island suppliers and producers it uses. Already this year, the ferry company has announced partnership deals with Wight Crystal, which has become Wightlink’s preferred supplier of bottled water, and Island Roasted, the provider of artisan coffee aboard St Clare.
The increased range of Island Brewery products will complement ales produced at Ryde-based Goddard’s Brewery, which are also available on board Wightlink vessels.
Wightlink Operations Director, Elwyn Dop said:
“Once again we are delighted to be working with a successful Island business to extend our range of high-quality locally produced fayre. The Island Brewery range will offer travellers the chance to enjoy a range of ales at very competitive prices which is good for the customer and good for the brewery.”
Under the new arrangements, Yachtsman’s Ale, Wight Knight and Wight Gold will all be available across all ships and during the festive season Wight Christmas will also be stocked. In addition, an Island Brewery gift set featuring the 3 year-round ales will also be on sale aboard Wightlink’s St Clare so visitors can take away a collection of the Island’s finest ales.
Island Brewery Sales Director Chris Mousley says:
“Our ales are well known on the Island and along the south coast but this arrangement with Wightlink will allow us the opportunity to take our produce to visitors coming to the Island from all parts of the country.
“This is both a fantastic opportunity to bring our ales to a new market as well as to help showcase the Island as a place with a wealth of local producers.”
