Independent Arts’ SingAbout Christmas song ‘Nobody Should be Alone at Christmas Time’ was featured on the BBC’s ‘The One Show’ yesterday evening (Wednesday) as an unlikely outsider for this year’s Christmas number 1.
Presenter Alex Jones pointed out statistically if everybody on the Isle of Wight bought a copy, the song could be Christmas number 1. Alan Davies went on to say ‘come on Isle of Wight’ to encourage Islanders to buy the single.
The song features over 400 hundred voices from Independent Arts’ SingAbout groups, with some of the singers well in to their 90s. The important thing about SingAbout is that they are not a choir, they are not professionals, they don’t have weekly rehearsals, they all just love to sing!
‘Nobody Should Be Alone at Christmas Time’ is a song written and produced for Independent Arts SingAbout groups by local musicians Jessica Toyne and Jason Paine. All proceeds from the sale of the record will go back into helping socially isolated people on the Isle of Wight through the work of Independent Arts.
The potential Christmas number 1 is available to buy on CD and download now – simply search ‘SingAbout – Nobody Should be Alone at Christmas Time’.
