The newly established Friends of Lord Louis Library will be Chaired by local resident Rachel Brown, who was selected at the inaugural meeting on Thursday (30th March).
The Friends group, established to increase use of the library and fundraise to enhance library facilities, heard about plans for the future, and agreed Committee positions, before enjoying a musical performance by local band Guith.
Newly selected Chair, Rachel Brown said:
“Lord Louis Library has been a part of my family’s life for over 15 years, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to support the library and the staff through the Friends group.
“Lord Louis Library is one of the most successful libraries of its type in the Country and the aim of the Friends group is to spread the word and ensure that the whole community benefits.”
Future events planned at the Library include a Craft exhibition on Saturday 8th April from 10:00-15:00 and a Bingo Night on Thursday 20th April. Further events will be planned throughout the year.
