Once again this year the Island’s MP, Andrew Turner, is offering 50 Island residents the opportunity to travel to London, with a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament.
This year’s trip will take place on Tuesday 29th November. A Southern Vectis coach will pick passengers up from Newport and Ryde, travel to London via Red Funnel Ferry where there will be the opportunity to take a guided tour around the Houses of Parliament, with time for shopping or sightseeing before joining the coach to return to the Island. The only cost to participants will be a £10 donation per person, all of which will go to Island charities.
Mr Turner said:
“Working with Red Funnel and Southern Vectis I am pleased to be able to run this trip to London for a third time this year. Islanders who have taken part in the previous trips have very much enjoyed the experience. So I would urge anyone who is interested to enter the ballot as soon as possible”.
Islanders may enter into the ballot for up to 2 places. Due to the limited number of places those who have been on the trip in the past cannot enter. Send your name, address and telephone number (and email address if possible) of 1 or 2 people who wish to take part in the trip by email to [email protected] or by post to Andrew Turner MP, The Riverside Centre, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 2QR.
The closing date for ballot entries is 17:00 on Friday 18th November and successful applicants will be notified on Tuesday 22nd November. Because of the number of entries received in previous years, unsuccessful applicants may not be notified on that day. Anyone who has entered the ballot in previous years but did not get a place will be given 2 entries.
