A man with a mission to meet as many Mayors as possible has recently visited the Ryde District Heritage Centre as part of his world record attempt.
41-year-old Mark Dabbs met with the Mayor of Ryde, Councillor Henry Adams on Tuesday 15th November. The visit to the Island takes Mark’s tally over the 130 mark.
Mark, from Walsall, is aiming to meet more than 150 mayors and has travelled as far away as Stockholm, Cape Town, Rio, Berlin and Shanghai as part of his challenge. He has also met with U S Senators, Sheriffs. Bishops and many other dignitaries from around the world.
He said:
“I believe there is no record holder for this yet but I would like to be the person to establish it as one.”
Mr Dabbs presented gifts from his hometown to Cllr Adams.
