An aerial video, released by Island Echo, reveals the full scale of the Long Lane Christmas Lights display, which has been switched on for the 17th year running this week.
This year’s show of lights is raising funds for Ability Dogs 4 Young People and Homestart IOW. It is hoped that donations will top the yearly record set in 2015 of £4,500.
Around 100 people turned out for the big switch on last Saturday and now Islanders are being invited along to an evening of Samba from 18:45 this coming Saturday (10th December).
Local businesses have supported Terry and Sue Ramplin’s festive display including Southern Vectis, HSS Traffic Management, Coast & Country Marquees, Shide Trees, Hamilton Fine Foods, Biltmore Printers and Island Echo.
The lights are on every evening in the run up to Christmas at 68 Long Lane, Newport. Visitors are invited to park up, walk in and enjoy the display – not forgetting to donate generously to charity.
