Tesco is recalling its own brand Finest Taleggio cheese because it contains Listeria monocytogenes.
The 200g pack, with a use by date of 25th January 2021, should be disposed of or returned to the store immediately for a full refund. Islanders should not consume this item.
Symptoms caused by this organism can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea.
Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than 1-month-old and people with weakened immune systems.
