The outgoing Mayor of Ryde, Cllr Roi Milburn, has this week presented a cheque for £200 to Ryde Inshore Rescue – the town’s independent lifeboat organisation.
The donation has come from the Ryde Mayor’s Charity Fund following fundraising efforts by Cllr Milburn during his second year in office. The Mayorship has now been taken up by Cllr Henry Adams.
Ady Farrell of Ryde Inshore Rescue says the much-appreciated donation will most likely go towards fitting out the charity’s new shop at the Appley-based station. The shop is set to open later this year.
