A team that are preparing to row 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean to Antigua are looking for a rower to join in an event of a much smaller kind – rowing across the Solent between Southsea and Ryde.
The search is on for 1 more contestant to enter the Silly Dinghy Derby – a 7.5km rowing race from Southsea to Ryde, in rubber dinghies.
The charity event, which is due to take place on 15th September, is being organised by 22-year-old graduate Will Whitehead in aid of the RNLI.
Portsmouth-based Onboard Charters will be providing a safety support vessel during the crossing. Interested parties need no experience, just an adventurous spirit.
Anyone interested in taking part should email [email protected].
