Rob made his statement as part of the Island Stories Podcast hosted by former BBC and Sky News broadcaster, Harriet Hadfield, from Seaview.
The first season of Island Stories will run for 8 episodes and, alongside Rob da Bank, will also feature a hovercraft pilot, a film locations specialist and an Island music legend. The idea is to get to know why each guest has chosen the Island as their home and to find out their extraordinary Island story.
Podcast host Harriet Hadfield says:
“We are so excited to launch our Island Stories Podcast and hope that our listeners will enjoy hearing about the lives of Island success stories. I love chatting to everyone I meet on the Island, so this podcast just feels like an extension of those conversations.”
Rob da Bank is best-known for starting Bestival – or ‘boutique festival’ – which ran until 2016, before the event moved to the mainland.
When asked if the event is coming back to the Island, Rob said:
“I get asked that at least once a week. I don’t know, I mean, never say never. There are currently no plans, but I tease it now and again. Bestival is 20 years old next year, and the brand is still there, the feeling is still there. So, something might happen. But now I’ve said that people will just think that it’s coming back, but we’ll see!”
