Isle of Wight Mitsubishi dealership, Westridge Garage, has congratulated one of the brand’s most loyal members of staff for his 30 years of service — and he shows no signs of stopping.
Rob Pannell, 45, of Newport, began working for Mitsubishi when the dealership was based in Newport, under the name Trafalgar Mitsubishi. He was just 15-years-old, washing cars on a Saturday, before working for them full time through a YTS scheme, initially in the workshop.
Over the years he worked his way up through the ranks, reaching the position of parts and service manager with Trafalgar, until the franchise directors retired in 2006 – and when Westridge, located on Brading Road in Ryde, became the Isle of Wight’s Mitsubishi dealership, Rob followed.
Rob said:
“I’m only 45, and I have many more years with Mitsubishi ahead of me.
“I could be some kind of record-breaker, you never know! I’ve loved every minute of working for Mitsubishi and with Westridge.”
Mark Winkles, dealer principal, said:
“Rob has been with us ten years and came to us from the previous Mitsubishi dealer. He has brought with him a wealth of experience and knowledge and has helped Westridge Garage achieve an excellent reputation on the Island for servicing, MOTs, car sales and parts sales.
