“The law is the law – it really is as simple as that!” say Police, who seized a car for a series of motoring offences in Lake yesterday afternoon (Saturday).
Officers from the Joint Operations Unit conducted a stop check on a Seat Leon off Newport Road, running a number of checks on the vehicle.
It didn’t take long for a number of red flags to be raised, resulting in the driver being reported for driving otherwise than in accordance with a driving licence, driving whilst using a mobile phone and driving a vehicle without a valid MOT.
The vehicle tax also ran out in 2019 and this will be dealt with by the DVLA.
A photograph of the car shows it displaying ‘P’ plates, suggesting a driver of the vehicle had only recently passed their test.
The vehicle was seized on the stop and removed by a local recovery agent.

Well the police have to do something to fill their day I guess. They’re obviously not bothered about the thousands disobeying the lockdown rules so what else are the police to do?? Will be on dog crap patrol next!
Brilliant result, well done to the Police.
The very lack of police encourages breaches of law. This,on the face of it,is a prime example.
Never worked for the emergency services have you.
Crush it.
And the car
Good glad another idiot off the road
Meanwhile, essential travel only rules are ignored, masks are not worn in shops, dossers are still getting drunk together, junkies are still scoring and getting high together, pervs are still huddled in a dark corner online and victims of violent domestic abuse take another step closer to a scary and fearful end to their days.
still, at least the government has mobilised all the police forces, moved heaven and earth and succeeded in managing to get someone for avoiding a tax.
