ISLANDERS TOLD NOT TO ARRIVE EARLY FOR COVID TESTS AS 70-CAR QUEUE SPOTTED

Published at:

A queue of more than 70 cars formed outside a COVID-19 testing centre on the Isle of Wight on Monday morning, prompting the Isle of Wight Council to issue a reminder to Islanders.

Around half-an-hour before the Medina testing site opened yesterday, dozens of Islanders had arrived desperate to get a positive or negative result for the virus.

Now the Council is explicitly asking Islanders not to arrive early for a booked test.

Many are just so bored with having to, for once, look after their own children, that any event out, is better than being in with them.

Perhaps they will now respect what a teacher, with thirty of them has to contend with each day.

If there is such a demand that huge queues are forming then why wasn’t the test centre at Blackwater on Sunday? Gates closed. The virus isn’t having a day off.

Indeed the deadly illness that requires constant testing to know if you have it or not!

You aren’t necessarily very ill with COVID but have mild symptoms but you are still told to get a test.

So the headline says 70 car que to then read on how dozens of islanders were there. Make your mind up. I wonder what time this supposed que was there as I drove through at 8.30 and no sign of one at all?

Probably over exaggerating again. Surely they are spacing out tests more sensibly? If 70 were in queue what were their appointment times I wonder?

Many have to test even if they feel fine. Do you not get that? Some companies get workers tested and there are other reasons too. Also some get extremely mild symptoms but they still must get a test. One day it might be you.
