Mike, a retired singer, songwriter and all round entertainer from Shanklin knew and worked with Jet – real name Terence Harris MBE – for over 20 years, through both the good times and the bad.
Jet shot to fame with The Shadows as Sir Cliff Richard’s backing band before then going on to have subsequent success as a soloist and as a duo with the drummer Tony Meehan. In 2010 Jet was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) but tragically just a year later he died at the age of 71, 2 years after being diagnosed with cancer.
‘Cliffhanger: The life and times of Jet Harris’ is Mike’s first book and has been released by Grosvenor House Publishing. It has been made available on Amazon, as well as to order through WH Smith’s and Waterstones.
“We spent many hours together and since his passing 5 years ago, Jet has left a void in so many people’s lives”.
