An international professional entertainer from Newport has made his way through to the grand final the national competition Britian Does Variety.
Owen Reid – also known as Afro Dizzy Act (ventriloquist) or Foxy The Funky Genie (children’s entertainer) – took part in an audition for the competition and was met by a great response. Soon he was through to the regional finals in Hayes and on Sunday was chosen alongside 6 others to go through to the grand final at Alban Arena in St Albans next month.
The talented entertainer has previously appeared on Take Me Out, a yell.com advert and CBBC’s Bug Alert. Last year Owen played the Isle of Wight Festival and has also performed across the world including in Hong Kong, Portugal and Egypt.
Owen’s first claim to fame was performing with Sir Cliff Richards on Stars on Sunday after being called ‘Sammy Davis Junior’ by the legend.
