The ability of the Friends of St Mary’s Hospital to meet requests for grants to pay for additional medical equipment or facilities at the Island’s hospital has been helped by the generous donation of £1,500.
The cheque comes from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Enterprise Holdings, which, through its regional subsidiaries, operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent-A–Car brands.
Presenting the cheque to the charity at the hospital, Andrew Hall, the Winchester-based Strategic Accounts Manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car, said:
“I have the pleasure of nominating charities to receive funding from the foundation.
“I had heard about the Friends and thought it was something we certainly would like to support – so I put the proposal forward. We are happy to give something back to the communities in which we operate.”
The chairman of the Friends, Lesley Myland, said:
“It is always a great pleasure to be selected for a donation. While we try to meet approved requests for help from various departments in the hospital it is always disappointing when we have to turn some down through lack of funds.”
