The pet friendly, nature inspired clothing company White Stuff has raised over £1100 for local charity Ability Dogs 4 Young People.
White Stuff held a charity day in March where keen seamstresses from across the country donated sewn, decorated material patches that were to be made into patchwork quilts. White Stuff donated £5 per patch to each stores’ local charity.
At the Cowes branch, over 220 patches were made – the largest amount nationally – resulting in the shop handing over a cheque to Ability Dogs 4 Young People for the grand total of £1,117.40.
All the beautiful patches were on display in the shop window for the day. After the event, White Stuff’s head office kindly sewed them together making the amazing patchwork quilt. White Stuff, Cowes have donated their patchwork quilt to the charity and it will auctioned later in the year, helping them to raise even more money from the fun event.
Ability Dogs 4 Young People is the chosen charity of White Stuff, Cowes. This is one of many fund raising events they are planning to meet their target of raising £16,000 for the Island charity.
Pam Clements, the charity’s Community Fundraiser said:
“We are really enjoying working with White Stuff, Cowes. When our Ability Dog puppies come in store the friendly staff make them very welcome. We are looking forward to seeing what else they have up their sleeves in their bid to help us”.
