As part of the firm’s community involvement day scheme, where staff are given an additional paid day’s leave to carry out work to benefit the local community, staff removed large amounts of overgrown foliage and weeds from the yard at Cowes Sea Cadets facility in Arctic Road in Cowes.
Lora Peacey-Wilcox, who invited Amey to help clean up the facility, is Chair of Cowes Sea Cadets and said:
“We were delighted Amey chose to come and help us. Every now and again you need those extra pairs of hands to deal with so much work. We cannot thank Amey enough for a wonderful, helpful, hard working team that came down and supported us.”
Paul Southall, Account Director for Amey on the Isle of Wight, took part in the clean up and added:
“We were very happy to help Cowes Sea Cadets clean up their yard and the team were made to feel very welcome.
“I was very impressed with the facility the cadets have and they should rightly be proud of it.”
Cowes Sea Cadets moved into their new facility in 2014 after several years of dedicated fundraising.
