Wightlink is giving passengers a chance to have their artwork immortalised on a life-size cow with an udderly fabulous colouring competition this Easter half-term.
The competition, being launched on Thursday (2nd April), celebrates the upcoming opening of The Herd, a new art installation at Tom’s Dairy at Tapnell Farm, Yarmouth. The new visitor attraction, scheduled to open at the start of summer and located close to the Wightlink ferry port, is a working farm which will feature activities for adults and children, with an indoor play area and licensed restaurant. Charities and other local businesses are also getting involved with the artistic display, featuring 20 life-size cows.
Budding artists are encouraged to take inspiration from their Wightlink crossing and design their cow using a theme based on their ferry crossing and stay on the Isle of Wight. Travellers can pick up an entry form on a Wightlink ferry or download one from https://wightlink.co.uk/theherd, although entrants will need to get a ‘mooove’ on, as the competition closes on 19th April 2015.
As well as having their artwork immortalised on one of the herd, the winner, along with their family or friends, will also win a two-night stay at Tapnell Farm alongside their winning Wightlink cow.
