The White Horse pub in Whitwell, said to be one of the oldest in the country, is to reopen its doors on Saturday.
Back in January Island Echo exclusively reported the sudden closure of the top pub, with details emerging that the managers had given staff next to no notice that the pub was to close its doors.
Now, 4 weeks later, it has been confirmed that the rural establishment will reopen on Saturday 21st February under the helm of Rachel Sharp and Alison Wills.
It was hoped that The White Horse would reopen on 1st February however Rachel has told Island Echo that an extensive kitchen refit had delayed the reopening.
Work has taken place in the car park and throughout the historic property.
