WESSEX LEAGUE SUSPENDS ACTION ON THE PITCH UNTIL AT LEAST 18TH JANUARY

The Island’s 3 main football teams will be on the sidelines until at least late January as the Wessex League suspends football matches amid COVID fears.

Wessex League bosses decided at a board meeting last night (Monday) to suspend all League and League Cup fixtures with immediate effect.

East Cowes Vics, Newport IW FC and Cowes Sports FC now face no action on the pitch until 18th January.

The League will review the situation in January in accordance with FA guidelines.
