Walk the Wight is off to a flying start with more than 1,300 enthusiastic walkers already registered within the last 4 weeks.
Now in its 26th year, the popular fundraising event which last year raised more than £270,000 for Earl Mountbatten Hospice, is aiming for a £300,000 target to help fund patient and family care on the Island.
Jax Jones, Major Events Fundraiser, is confident that year’s event will be another success:
‘Thanks to this impressive start we have already raised around £6k through sales of the ‘Pay 25’ pack. We are absolutely overwhelmed by the support and hope it continues right up until the walk on Sunday 15th May”.
There are three ways in which you can register to take part and raise funds for the Hospice: a standard pack where you aim to raise as much money as possible, a £25 Walker Pack which includes a £18 donation, or a pledge pack, where you make a commitment to raise at least £100 in sponsorship.
Registration packs and more information are available from all Hospice shops on the Island, or at www.walkthewight.com.
