A group of volunteers have been left dishearted after equipment used to litter pick in Ryde was stolen overnight.
In recent days, a group of youths have been seen gaining entry into The Waterside Pool complex on Ryde Esplanade between the hours of 18:00 and 20:00.
Last night (Thursday), the youths made entry once again and also destroyed equipment used by the local volunteers from the Respect Ryde Project. The unknown individuals damaged a storage box and stole its contents.
The incidents, 3 in total, have been reported to the Police on each occasion.
Waterside Pool is now asking members of the local community who find themselves in the area to walk past the pool in a bid to deter youngsters from breaking in and to call the Police if such activity is witnessed.

It’s about time all the lowlife and their feral brats where put on after dark curfews.
I’m not a betting person but what are the odds it’s the same group of kids that hang around the bus/train station being abusive to customers and staff? You know the ones – teens, scooter and mountain bike, think they’re untouchable……
Yeh that’s right jones, police never there when they must know it’s a brat problem area. See how quick they turn up if we dare touch one of them, and the little sh*ts know it. The police are encouraging them by doing nothing about their loitering with intent and anti social behavior. as I said earlier, they should be on after dark curfew.
The Police DO know them, and they chat to them by first name terms. As the Police want an easy life, as they KNOW if they arrested a child, then the courts would do nothing without absolute proof. And with a gang of mates to back them up, it would be near impossible and even IF found guilty then a small fine, which they or the parents IF know, would not pay at all, and, if they did it would be only from benefits which we all pay for.
Watch it get so very much worse when Ryde is filled with those who will make these look like model citizens.
Watch and remember these days, for soon they will be gone, forever.

The police need to find out who these kids are and put a stop to this unwanted behaviour. Fine the parents, heavily.

All moan about these feral type, yet will be donating food parcels for the benefit kept trash.
Most decent children wouldn’t do such, but many of those who are paid by the Government via ‘us’ to be here are the same sort who have no respect or care for anything but themselves.
Giving such ‘more’ just makes them see society as weak, not nice, and they then feel they have a right to take whatever they want, and know that the do gooders will forgive the ‘starving’ children.
Respect will never come from giving, it needs to be earnt in life.
What was so funny or interesting in number 1 breaking into a swimming pool and 2 robbing litter picking equipment, honestly what has this island come to? I totally agree that kids need to be put on a curfew in the dark hours especially where it’s now getting dark a whole lot earlier. Then at least when the police do turn up they have the ability to escort the kids home and inform the parents and if they persist on being out past the curfew legal action can be taken.
Come on IOW police stop allowing this sort of behaviour to continue, you need to start patrolling more in these sort of hotspots, your meant to be a neighbourhood policing team.

Just get the keys to one of the many vacant shops in town and then post photos of the criminal’s on the window display that will stop them!
