Up to 60 people are being treated at St Mary’s Hospital for COVID-19, the Isle of Wight NHS Trust has confirmed.
The number has soared in recent days with 21 people admitted to hospital in the 7 days leading up to 27th December. That has now climbed to 51 with a further 9 suspected cases in the hospital environment.
Although a larger number of people have been hospitalised, the Intensive Care Unit is not full and St Mary’s is able to cope with the current level of demand. There is currently no need to transfer COVID patients off the Island.
However, 40 staff members at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust have developed COVID symptoms.
Data up until 4th January shows that 2 people have died on the Island in the past 7 days – a number that could rise but, in comparison to March’s lockdown period, is low.
It is currently hoped that all Islanders over the age of 70 will be vaccinated against the coronavirus by mid-February, allowing the country to unlock from the national lockdown measures imposed last night. To date, over 500 staff members at the IOW NHS Trust have been vaccinated.
Surely it would be wise to vaccinate all the workers who can’t work from home, and who have little choice but to be in contact with members of the public outside their bubble.
All shop workers, clearly all NHS staff who are not just office bound, all teachers, and those in petrol stations, care home staff, as even cooks have the absent minded residents or those suffering memory illness from breaking distancing rules etc.
The vulnerable yet healthy elderly can, for the most part keep isolated unless needing treatment from outsiders, whereas workers cannot avoid people.
A very hard choice when ‘playing God’ but some of the above are at great risk, and many of us are unaware of any ‘underlying’ health issues we may have until it is too late.
We need more positive action on mass vaccinations by enlisting military help imo. They have much PE equipment and medically trained staff, and aren’t fighting any wars, yet, so are free to help those who need atm, more protection from the unseen enemy to those we can see all too clearly.
Yet again, watching London’s nightly news, you’re told of many “covid19 deaths”. But they’re not, are they? They misattributed deaths from other causes. Not from the virus. It’s not responsible for many deaths recently in London. Not even an epidemic any more. Don’t trust “cases”

Whilst only the most naive or gullible would fully trust ANY Government, council or authority 100% ( this one less that 50%), and most of us are ‘aware’ that all of those groups and more, will ‘use’ this CV, or any ‘disaster’ to their advantage when given the chance, to deny it’s existence and potential damage is equally naive imo.
IF it were just the UK, or even the West, then we could perhaps deeply question the timing, coinciding with Brexit, which the globalists clearly didn’t want, for fear of contagion and the break up of the entire EU, and we could assume they were ‘exaggerating’ the damage from CV to keep the whole EU in fear of facing this alone in poorer EU countries to ‘keep it all together’ But the whole world, all in some master conspiracy? One or more would break rank, and blow the whistle, as most countries are hardly friendly to one another.
Yet ‘apart’ from ending cash in society, which was happening naturally, and forcing all future earning, be it drug dealing, prostitution, cash in hand jobs to be shown as digital only crypto transaction which the Governments would instantly know about, I can see no purpose for any Government to spend billions, to gain what exactly?
IF it is to reduce cars they could, as they are doing, just ban fossil fuels, make them so expensive, and then force all to either drive EVs, or walk, or more likely have to use a ‘driverless taxi’ when 5g is fully rolled out, thus forcing the majority off the road by cost, giving the elite quite uncongested roads once more, whilst we have private EV driverless cabs to travel in. This will happen without CV anyway, so ‘where’ is the gain to any Government?

Hospitals are not bulging with covid and certainly as one said “full with all ages” with it.such bs.if that was case schools would of never opened at all!

News from Robert Kennedy Jr claims that older people having the Pfizer vax during trials presented with v serious immune responses once they were exposed to the wild virus. A vaccine is not a T-cell & reacts v differently to the natural virus when it meets it. They were warned.
So whats your explanation for the rising amount of deaths in the capital. Funny how the figures are reflecting the rising amount of confirmed cases.
The data isn’t perfect but it isn’t as you suggest, so faulty that you can’t see a picture emerging.

No real excess deaths since June…no influenza or pneumonia deaths since March…work that out.

Real Islander – what you are mis-interpreting is that people with underlying health conditions may live for many years, but Covid 19 has accelerated their death, which is incredibly sad.
Now compare that to how many will die because of lock-downs/ no referrals/ treatment /suicides etc, We will be counting the cost for years…and our children/grandchildren will have to live with the consequences or this madness for a very long time.
Amazing, I was just watching the news, live, they were talking about St Mary’s hospital;, today, at lunch time,
28 covid cases in hospital and one on a ventilator bed !!! So where does this rubbish come from.. where are the other 32 hiding…

Hey ! Since the virus is mostly contracted from airborne particles, why not get a crop sprayer to spray the vaccine over the Island a few times a day… then at the times tell people to go out and breathe !!!
