Sainsbury’s Isle of Wight has been busy helping local Islanders in the run up to Christmas by collecting food donations from customers for the Isle of Wight Foodbank.
The Newport store has been a collection point for customers and colleagues to donate non-perishable items for the Isle of Wight Foodbank. During the festive period, the Foodbank is anticipating in excess of 700 people which will need food this support during this Christmas period.
Paul Dyer, Store Manager at Sainsbury’s Isle of Wight, said:
“The Island’s Foodbank is a fantastic cause that we’ve been able to support this year. I’d like to thank our customers for their generous donations in the lead up to Christmas.”
Hannah King, Manager at the Isle of Wight Foodbank added:
“The number of people using foodbanks is increasing, so we’re extremely grateful for the kind donations from customers and colleagues at Sainsbury’s Newport Isle of Wight.
“Christmas is a very busy time of year for us and it’s amazing to see so many people are willing to help.”
