Ryde Skate Park is to receive nearly £200 following a successful inaugural IOWSoup event at Aspire in Ryde on Monday.
The fantastically simple idea involves a group of local people coming together and donating what they can before listening to up to 4 organisations that need funds. The group eat soup together before then voting on which organisation should receive the funds.
On Monday night the very first soup event on the Island was held, with Ryde Skate Park User Group receiving just under £200.
A spokesperson for the group said:
“The boys were totally stoked to have won and everyone’s kind words and support was really great. It was such a brilliant community spirited evening”.
