Proud mother of three Lyn Blackledge has stepped up to take on the role of Chairperson for Ryde Business Association, despite being mid launch of her own international training and mentoring business with her two sons.
With a number of marketing awards to her name, it could be argued that there is no one better suited than Lyn to representing Ryde to the wider demographic. When speaking to about her ‘beloved island’, Lyn is very passionate about the area and all it has to offer.
No stranger to press attention, Lyn has been featured numerous times across a plethora of media outlets, not only for her valiant business services, but also for her selflessness in raising funds for local charities. So much so, that it has even got to the point of some people knowing her and her partner in crime, Julie Jordan, simply as the ‘Giggly Grannies’. A name she wears proudly.
After 4 years of running a local business networking group, Wightbuzz, also dubbed by others as the ‘Connection Queen’ – Lyn is in the process of launching an international website with ATN, to allow her to reach and connect even more businesses across the globe. Providing social media training, business advice & a unique round the clock mentoring service.
Talking to Lyn about her new role in RBA, as the chairperson, she did reveal that there were some exciting bits of news on the way including a brand new website, a local newsletter & a few other surprises.
Lyn, at a modest 64, is certainly as spritely as the rest of them and she even puts some millennials to shame when it comes to understanding how best to use social media – a service she now teaches, both online and in person, to empower others to grow their own local businesses.
