Ryde Academy is on a mission to find enthusiastic trainee teachers to join its teacher training programme for September 2016.
Whether you have just completed your degree or have experience from a different career that you could bring to the classroom, Ryde Academy would like to hear from you.
Training is delivered through the nationally recognised ‘School Direct’ programme which consists of a combination of practical training in the classroom and academic training at University. For those with a degree level qualification, training takes just 1 year to complete and will result in the award of qualified teaching status.
Financial support for trainee teachers has never been better as you could receive up to £30,000 tax free to train depending on the subject you teach. Not only is teaching a hugely fulfilling career, you also get 13 weeks holiday each year. Once qualified, starting salaries of teachers are between £22,244 and £27,819. Your pay will be linked to performance and not length of service – meaning it’s possible for you to increase your salary more quickly than ever before.
Ryde Academy currently has training opportunities in English, Maths, Science and Geography.
“I’m really excited that we’re able to offer these training opportunities at our Academy. We recognise the importance of recruiting new trainees to be our teachers of the future. We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for their subject who will help to inspire our students to become the best they can. In return, we’ll invest heavily in all our trainees to kick start their successful careers in teaching”.
Matthew Snelling, Trainee Maths Teacher on placement at Ryde Academy added:
“There are fantastic support mechanisms in place at Ryde to ensure we become the very best teachers. I find the combination of practical teaching and theory based training great for me. The training year is hard work but it’s extremely rewarding as I’m doing what I love.”
