Policing will receive up to £15.8billion to build back safer streets and cut crime, the Government has announced.
The 2021/22 funding package will include over £400million to recruit 20,000 extra officers by 2023, building on the success of the first year of the recruitment campaign – which has already delivered almost 6,000 additional police officers.
Hampshire Constabulary -which polices the Isle of Wight – looks set to receive an extra £21million, taking the total funding to £387million.
Alongside getting more officers out on the street, the funding settlement will enable policing to tackle serious violence and increase the number of specialist officers tackling terrorism and serious organised crime, including child sexual abuse and drug trafficking.
Home Secretary Priti Patel said:
“I am grateful to our police officers who have been working hard across the South East to keep our communities safe.
“This funding package will ensure they continue to deliver on the priorities of their communities, including extra officers, less crime and ultimately safer streets.”

This is very good news.
“Build back better” that is the slogan of the great reset, and all governments around the world are using this. It suggests to me, that you must first demolish, to rebuild.well they are certainly doing a good job at demolishing the life we once knew!! Welcome to covid 21 .
The plan is to fill Europe with the vilest of crims, then knowing once peaceable communities are broken, bring in laws to ban cash, saying it is because of money laundering and to help stop crime and terrroists funds etc. The authorities will then have full control of what you have, so all income will then be shown on a central computer, if you are on benefits, then drug dealing, prostitution earnings, casual work, will show as income and benefits will be adjusted accordingly. Certainly some barter system will happen, but NOTHING compared to what is being swindled by such and self employed cash jobs, those working on the dole etc etc
Next will come internet censorship, using terrorists and Russian spying etc as the ‘excuse’ so all will be know via the phone or pc should any evidence need to be retrieved years down the line if necessary
The newcomers will breed us all into their poverty and crime, the rich will control us fully and end private car ownership for the greater masses, They KNOW car ownership cannot continue as it has and EV will taxi the poor around, whilst the elite live miles away from the horrors they create and they will have far more quite roads to use for their joy,
Foreign holidays will once more be a preserve of the few, not the masses, and the masses will have to make do with a week in some overcrowded destination, with the horrors of modern society and crime which goes with such.
Watch it happening. That is why the Gov fuss so much over pollution as a way to end car ownership at a time when you would ‘think’ they had other more pressing issues to attend to.
All part of the plan to control every aspect of our lives, for once cash is fully useless then whatever account you hold, they will see every payment in and out, and tax everyone on such and slash benefits for those with ‘immoral’ earnings showing.
Life for your grandchildren if in the lower income bracket will be vastly different to what you enjoyed..
Even the things we now take for free, such as open spaces, quiet beaches and countyside will be filled as people due to income constraints are forced to stay put, whilst the elite can return to the beautiful places in the world without the tattooed chav builders and those paying for such on ‘tax credits’ ruining the ambiance of such for them.
Watch and learn, Brexit will be used to blame ‘us’ for voting for it, when prices rise alarmingly to keep the working class down.
Thankyou, Mr Icke, for yet another enlightening diatribe.
The only thought I can agree with is that evreybody will try to blame everybody else for the inevitable effects of Brexit.
I think you should up your meds, mate.
Cool story Bro.
Thats great! I hope there wont be as much crime reports on island echo as there is at the moment.
Need to control the boats first
Fight crime?is this early april fools.theyre all too busy being heavy handed over th top Nazi covid idiots too people with rights and freedom
Yet more lies
I presume this additional funding will not have any affect on the increase in the Policing Precept when the new Council Tax figures are announced, they will still claim that they need MORE!
Gotta throw millions of people in prison for those “naughty naughty” tweets. While rapists, murders and terrorists get Oscars and 5 grand a month.
How about applying what funding there is to useful activities, ie NOT on “Police and Crime Commissioners” and their expensive entourages.
