An Assisted Living development in Newport brought a bit of festive magic to retirees last week after it held its first ever Christmas market.
Somers Brook Court on Foxes Road welcomed over 60 visitors to the development, who joined in the fun of the market in a bid to pick up stocking fillers and presents from the many stalls and local businesses who took part.
As well as gift ideas a-plenty, there was mulled wine and mince pies, along with a raffle and a ‘guess the weight of the cake’ which raised over £160 for local charities in Newport.
Over 12 different traders selling everything from unique gifts, to crafts, to sumptuous cakes and quirky vodka liqueurs, packed out the Assisted Living development to the delight of homeowners who really embraced the festive spirit.
Estates Manager at Somers Brook Court, Virginia Brown comments:
“It was a huge team effort and the day was a success from start to finish. We’re really thankful to the stall holders who took part and we were delighted with the turn-out of visitors. All of our homeowners thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to make start on their Christmas shopping, and they are already asking if we can do it again next year!
“Staff worked tirelessly to make it a special day for all, and one of our homeowners even took a stall for herself, selling some of her craft items and homemade cards”.
