A woman who slapped a man in a Travelodge after he called her a ‘cheap junkie whore’ has appeared before Magistrates charged with assault by beating.
The court heard that 25-year-old Natasha Pink of Forest Close, Newport, who works as a female escort, had arranged to meet the victim at Newport’s Travelodge on the 25th May.
Magistrates heard that following the meeting, Pink fell asleep in the hotel room and awoke when she was challenged by the male victim who had gone onto her mobile phone and found messages between the defendant and other men.
Pink is then accused of slapping the man – leaving a red mark on his face – after he called her names before leaving the hotel and being driven off in an awaiting vehicle.
For Pink’s defence, Barry Arnett told the court that Pink had been provoked not only by the names she had been called but also by a threat issued by the man against the lives of her cats. The defence went on to call the victim impact statement given by the man as ‘hollow’ after he repeatedly tried to get back in touch with Pink.
Magistrates handed Pink a conditional 12-month discharge and she was ordered to pay a £22 surcharge.
Pink previously appeared in court just last month for possession of Class B and Class C drugs. She was given a 12-month suspended sentence in 2018 for stabbing a man in the chest.

This case and some of the comments shows that misogyny is endemic in our society. This man should be ashamed of himself.
