The upcoming modernisation means the Post Office service will be provided at a combination counter, where the Post Office terminal will sit beside the retail till instead of a separate screened counter.
To allow for the changes to take place, locals are advised that the Post Office will close for refurbishment on Saturday 21st February at 17:30, however, the village store will remain open.
Opening hours will be Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 07:00-21:00; Wednesday and Saturday: 07:00-19:30 and Sunday 08:00-18:00.
There will also be major improvements to the retail including new lighting, a new chiller unit and a wider range of fresh food and groceries.
David Gold, Post Office Area Manager, said:
“We know how important Post Office services are to residents in Binstead and we are confident this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community will be popular. The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy to the end of the decade.”
