The UK’s first mobile phone network aimed at serving older customers, Fuss Free Phones, has launched in Go Mobile stores on the Isle of Wight.
Fuss Free Phones provides a telephonist-based concierge-style service, accessed at the press of a single big button on a Doro mobile phone. Answered immediately by specially trained, friendly telephonists, customers can ask to be put through to their friends and relatives, for a text message to be sent and replies read back, or request help to find something on the Web.
For the first time on any mobile network Fuss Free Phones is offering no-nuisance calls. This unique free service means customers can opt to receive calls only from their contacts, with all other calls being directed to the call centre telephonists first. Calls are then vetted, with scam and spam calls terminated and genuine callers put through to customers.
Simon Rockman, founder of Fuss Free Phones, said:
“Older people have always been overlooked in the mobile phone market, which is entirely geared towards the young tech savvy generation.
“Our network is for those people who want to keep in touch with friends and family but do not wish to engage with ever more complicated phones, or struggle using a mobile with lots of extra features available. They just want their mobile to work for them.
“Go Mobile is the perfect partner for us; they are passionate about customer service and their store staff are patient, friendly and very knowledgeable.”
Steve Fraser, managing director of Go Mobile said:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Fuss Free Phones to bring an easy to use mobile service for our older customers to the South West for the first time. We offer a friendly welcome in our stores whether customers want to upgrade their smartphone or get some help with using their phone.
“With this new service we are bringing together the excellent range of Doro feature phones with a network that is quite simply demystifying mobile phones for a huge proportion of the population. Fuss Free Phones is easy to use and secure, and that’s what our customers have been asking for.”
Doro handsets were chosen for their clarity and simplicity. With large buttons for customers with mobility issues and excellent colour contrast for people with failing eyesight to see the numeric buttons. All the phone user needs to do is press the single large button on the back of the phone to be put straight through to the UK based Fuss Free Phones telephonists.
Customers choose the Doro phone they want, starting at £30, and then pay a fixed £20 per month (or £220 for a whole year) for 24/7 telephonist service, no-nuisance calls, 130 minutes per month and unlimited texts. As an introductory offer for Mothers’ Day, Go Mobile in Newport and Ryde are offering Fuss Free Phones at £10 a month for the first three months.
GoMobile stores are located in Pyle Street, Newport and High Street, Ryde.
