Marghanita Allen, a Guider with the Bay Guides, undertook the challenge of ‘Brave the Shave’ at The Chale Show last weekend, all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Marghanita certainly took up the challenge and a crowd gathered around the Wight B.A.T.S stall on Saturday to see her lose her locks, with those watching donating a total of £95 towards Marghanita’s overall target of £1000.
Fellow biker Carol Weeks with Lexi Skeldon and Dave had the undertaking of cutting off the locks, which will now be donated to the Little Princess Trust which makes wigs for children who lose their hair through illness.
Before the shave Marghanita said:
“I am doing Brave the Shave for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of friends and family I’ve lost through cancer and to show my support for all my friends and family who have been effected by cancer one way or another”.
Nearly £600 has been raised overall so far in donations and sponsorship. Further donations are being invited via the online donation page www.bravetheshave.org.uk/shavers/marghanita.
