A new Isle of Wight loyalty card has been launched, rewarding Islanders for shopping locally with discounts and special offers at participating businesses.
Over 50 Island businesses on board with The Wight Choice scheme, with that number growing weekly.
The Wight Choice was launched by two Island residents who got tired of seeing smaller businesses close to make way for the huge multinational chains. Shopping locally boosts the Island’s economy – research has shown that spending £10 with a local independent shop means up to an additional £50 goes back into the local economy.
Mila Lakubenko of The Wight Choice said:
“It’s more than just about getting discounts. We’ve found that Islanders are joining because they love the Island, and want to see those smaller, local businesses thrive. They are at the heart of our community.
“The loyalty card is just the start, though…we’ve got loads of fun ideas for helping Islanders save money whilst boosting Island businesses!”
After signing up for your Wight Choice card from the website for just £15 a year, you simply show it when using any participating business and receive your discount.
