Hovertravel has slashed its weekend and Bank Holiday timetable to every 2 hours as passenger numbers plummet as a result of Tier 4 restrictions on either side of the Solent.
From tomorrow (New Year’s Day), Hovertravel will be operating between Ryde and Southsea every 2 hours on Saturdays and Sundays and also on Bank Holidays, which applies to tomorrow’s crossings.
On these days, the 10-minute service will operate between 08:15 and 20:30 only with the amended timetable in place until at least 31st January.
The cross-Solent operator has warned that it may need to make further cuts at short notice with the management team reviewing the operation daily.
